At the 61st National awards announced Kannada film ‘December 1’ directed by P Seshadri and produced by Basanth Kumar Patil gets the best regional awards. It is 8th in a row for P Seshadri. He is on a run to win. Bhag Seshadri Baagh for awards!

For December 1 Kannada film it is Rs.1 lakh each to producer and director besides Rajat Kamal. P Seshadri also shares the best screenplay award with Panchakshari of ‘Prakruthi’ Kannada and Sumitra Bhave of Astu – all receive Rs.50000 and Rajat Kamal.

The special jury award goes to Dr Girish Kasaravalli a Rajat Kamal that was made on Dr UR Ananthamurthy – Not a Biography…but a hypothesis. He shares special jury award (Rajat Kamal) with Kashmiri directors Satyanshu Singh and Devanshu Singh who directed the documentary Tamaash.
